Stars from Sochi land on Wheaties boxes

Mikaela Shiffrin

Alpine skier Mikaela Shiffrin and slopestyle snowboarder Sage Kotsenburg are set to join the ranks of Olympians to appear on Wheaties boxes.

Shiffrin, 18, and Kotsenburg, 20, will be on limited-edition boxes that hit store shelves this spring, according to PR Newswire.

Shiffrin became the youngest Olympic slalom champion on Friday and said the next day she dreamed of winning five gold medals at the 2018 Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea.

First, she’ll return to the World Cup circuit and attempt to wrap up her second straight season title in the slalom in March.

Kotsenburg won the first gold medal in Sochi when he upset Canadian favorites at Rosa Khutor Extreme Park on Feb. 8. His triumph came after the top U.S. hope, Shaun White, withdrew from the event.

Shiffrin and Kotsenburg are the latest in a long list of Olympians to grace Wheaties boxes.

In 2012, beach volleyball champ Misty May-Treanor and swimmer Michael Phelps adorned limited-edition boxes.
