TERRY GANNON, TARA LIPINSKI AND JOHNNY WEIR HOST NBC’S PRIMETIME COVERAGE OF TOKYO OLYMPICS CLOSING CEREMONY TONIGHT AT 8 P.M. ET

STAMFORD, Conn. – Aug. 8, 2021 – NBC Olympics’ commentators Terry Gannon, Tara Lipinski, and Johnny Weir will host NBC’s primetime coverage of the Closing Ceremony for the Games of the XXXII Olympiad from Tokyo Olympic Stadium tonight at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on NBC. Lewis Johnson serves as Closing Ceremony reporter.

Tonight’s Closing Ceremony will feature interviews, profiles, a countdown of the top five moments of the games, and more. In addition, the Jonas Brothers will debut an Olympics inspired edition of their hit single “Remember This” recounting unforgettable moments of the Tokyo Olympics, and Dwayne Johnson introduces athletes in the upcoming Paralympics.

Kara Winger, who in Tokyo competed in her fourth Summer Games in javelin, was selected by her teammates to serve as the flag bearer for the United States.

Mike Tirico will open primetime coverage tonight on NBC at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT with Tokyo Gold, a look back at the Games’ most memorable performances, including Steve Kornacki with some of the Games’ most unique stories.

Gannon, Lipinski, and Weir previously served as hosts for the 2018 PyeongChang Olympics Closing Ceremony. Johnson is a Closing Ceremony reporter for the third time (2002 Salt Lake, 2016 Rio). NBCOlympics.com and the NBC Sports app will also stream NBC’s fully-produced presentation of the Closing Ceremony at 8 p.m. ET. Beginning on Monday, NBC’s broadcast of the Closing Ceremony will be available on-demand on Peacock.
