STAMFORD, Conn. – Aug. 18, 2026 – Three-time reigning and five-time Tour de France champion Tadej Pogačar (UAE Team Emirates-XRG) of Slovenia headlines NBC Sports’ live coverage of the 81st Vuelta a España, the final Grand Tour of the cycling season, beginning this Saturday, Aug. 22, at 10 a.m. ET on Peacock.
Peacock will stream start-to-finish live coverage of all 21 stages of the Vuelta a España, while NBCSN will also present complete live race coverage on weekdays throughout the event.
The 2026 Grand Départ will take place in Monaco, marking the Vuelta’s first-ever start in the country. With the milestone, Monaco also becomes the first location to host the opening stage of all three cycling Grand Tours (Giro d’Italia, Tour de France, and Vuelta a España).
Daily live coverage of the 2026 Vuelta a España culminates with Stage 21 in Granada, Spain, on Sunday, Sept. 13, at 10 a.m. ET on Peacock. The finish marks the first time since 1986 that the race will conclude outside of Madrid or Santiago de Compostela.
The third and final Grand Tour of the 2026 cycling season, the 81st Vuelta a España will cover approximately 2,035 miles over 21 stages from Aug. 22-Sept. 13 and feature 23 teams and 184 riders. Following the first two stages in Monaco, the route will cross into France and Andorra before entering Spain for Stage 5, where the race will remain for the final 16 stages.
Pogačar, who won his third consecutive and fifth overall Tour de France title in July, is expected to compete in the Vuelta a España for the first time since making his Grand Tour debut at the race in 2019. With a victory, he would become the ninth rider in history to win all three Grand Tours and would claim his seventh career Grand Tour title — five Tour de France victories and a 2024 Giro d’Italia win — moving into a five-way tie for fourth on the all-time Grand Tour wins list.
Pogačar is expected to be joined among this year’s frontrunners by four-time Vuelta champion Primož Roglič (Red Bull – Bora – Hansgrohe) of Slovenia, 2025 runner-up João Almeida (UAE Team Emirates-XRG) of Portugal, and Felix Gall (Decathlon CMA CGM Team) of Austria, who finished second at the 2026 Giro d’Italia.
