Championship Season Continues with Five Big Events on NBC Sports Live Extra

Kings-Blackhawks Game 7 Sets Streaming Record for NBC Sports Live Extra

Through three rounds of the 2014 Stanley Cup Playoffs, live streaming of the 86 games across NBC Sports Live Extra has delivered 1.06 million uniques and 164.36 million minutes, an increase of 290% and 305%, respectively, vs. last season . These totals have already surpassed last year’s figures for the entire playoffs.

As previously announced, the live stream of Game 7 produced record metrics for an authenticated game on NBC Sports Live Extra. The game delivered 142,033 uniques and 8,146,724 million minutes consumed, making it the best authentication-required NHL game ever in all key metrics and the best authenticated or unauthenticated game of the 2013-14 season in all key metrics.

NBC Sports Digital Surrounds the Belmont Stakes

NBC Sports Live Extra will stream NBC and NBCSN’s Belmont Stakes coverage this weekend as California Chrome looks to win the third jewel of the Triple Crown.

Additional digital-only Belmont Stakes coverage includes:

• An online-only isolation camera on Triple Crown contender California Chrome during the race;

• Exclusive analysis by NBC Sports commentators in the days leading up to the race plus post-race, online commentary by NBC commentators;

• Replays and highlights from the Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes.

All-Access Social Media: For the rest of Belmont week, NBC Sports Group is implementing its All-Access social media strategy, where horse racing fans can access content from the Belmont at a “social center” housed on

Belmont All-Access aggregates what’s trending around the race and what’s hot in the social world. Fans can access and sort social media content from Instagram, Twitter and Vine through various streams including horse racing experts, horses (including the horses themselves, jockeys and trainers), a photos-only section and Vine videos. In addition, fans can plug in their first and last names and will be given their ‘Horse Name’ to be shared on Twitter.

Twitter: Viewers and Tweeters alike will be encouraged to join the conversation by using the hashtag #TripleCrown. Reminders will appear on screen throughout all of NBC’s Belmont coverage.

• On-air integration of live tweets from celebrities, horse racing experts and @NBCSN will be featured on screen throughout the broadcasts to keep viewers up to date with what’s happening on Twitter;

Arnold Palmer Fans Invited to Share Personal Stories for Golf Channel’s Dear Arnie

Following fans’ overwhelming response to Arnie, which trended on Twitter all three nights of its April premiere run and became the most-watched original production in network history, Golf Channel Films will keep the momentum going by asking fans to share their personal reflections about Arnold Palmer for a user-generated final installment.

Golf Channel is extending an open invitation to fans of Arnold Palmer, affectionately known as Arnie’s Army, via a dedicated page on, which allows them to submit videos capturing their personal stories about the man golf fans affectionately call “The King.”

The submission website,, has detailed instructions, tips on how to effectively shoot a video and an e-mail address for questions or technical assistance. Producers are encouraging video submissions to include great visuals, including mementos, letters, photos, personal video or even autographed cans of Pennzoil. Deadline for submissions is December 31, 2014.

2013 NSSA Award Winners from NBC Sports Digital’s Phillies Insider Jim Salisbury was named the 2013 Pennsylvania Sportswriter of the Year by the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association. In addition, NBC Sports Group’s Mike ‘Doc’ Emrick has been elected the 2013 National Sportscaster of the Year.
