Final: Saturday, Oct. 28, at 3 p.m. ET on Peacock and CNBC -- New Zealand v. South Africa

New Zealand and South Africa, who are tied for the most championships in Rugby World Cup history (three), meet this weekend in a rematch of the 1995 Rugby World Cup Final in Johannesburg, which was won by the Springboks, 15-12, in the nation’s first-ever Rugby World Cup appearance. At the end of the match, South African President Nelson Mandela famously presented the Webb Ellis Cup to Springboks captain François Pienaar.

South Africa and New Zealand have combined to win each of the past four Rugby World Cup titles: New Zealand in 2011 and 2015, and South Africa in 2007 and 2019. New Zealand is 3-1 all-time in Rugby World Cup Final appearances, while South Africa is 3-0.

Defending champions South Africa beat England, 16-15, in the Semifinals last weekend, earning their second consecutive one-point victory en route to the Final (29-28 over France in the Quarterfinals).

The All Blacks of New Zealand defeated Argentina, 44-6, last weekend to advance to the Final for the third time in the past four tournaments.

Third Place Match: Friday, Oct. 27, at 3 p.m. ET on Peacock – Argentina v. England

Argentina look to secure their second third-place finish at the Rugby World Cup (2007) after finishing fourth in the 2015 tournament. England finished as runners-up to South Africa in 2019 and have four total top-three finishes at the Rugby World Cup, including their only title in 2003.
