Bucs signed RB Russell Hansbrough off their practice squad.
If it was not clear already, this move all but confirms Charles Sims (knee) will sit Monday night. Jacquizz Rodgers will get the start in his place.

    Bucs waived RB Russell Hansbrough.
Hansbrough was promoted from the practice squad last Monday with the Bucs in need of fresh bodies in the backfield. He is almost certainly headed back to the practice squad again. Cutting Hansbrough suggests the Bucs are confident Doug Martin (hamstring) will be back this week.

Bucs signed RB Russell Hansbrough off their practice squad.
He will take the roster spot of RB Antone Smith, who is headed to injured reserve. With Doug Martin (hamstring) and Jacquizz Rodgers (foot) also banged up, the Bucs needed some depth at running back.

Bucs signed RB Russell Hansbrough off the Giants’ practice squad.
Hansbrough spent some time on the Bucs earlier this season. His return is the latest indication Doug Martin will remain a “healthy scratch” for Week 17.

    Buccaneers waived RB Russell Hansbrough.
Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times notes that Hansbrough was cut by the Bucs five times last year and could be headed to the practice squad. Hansbrough not making the team should come as good news to fifth-round rookie Jeremy McNichols, who finds himself right on the bubble following an unimpressive camp.

Bucs signed Missouri RB Russell Hansbrough.
Hansbrough (5'8/192) was a rotational scatback for the Tigers, collecting a career rushing line of 467-2,344-15 (5.02 YPC) with 30 receptions. Diminutive and not an especially great athlete, Hansbrough managed a 4.63 forty at Mizzou’s Pro Day with pedestrian vertical (30 1/2") and broad (9'6") jumps. Hansbrough was a useful college player who likely won’t cut it in the pros.

Chargers promoted RB Russell Hansbrough from their practice squad.
It’s a sign the Chargers have concerns about Melvin Gordon’s (ankle) Week 17 availability, although Austin Ekeler (broken hand) is also unable to function on offense. Beyond Hansbrough, Branden Oliver is the Bolts’ lone healthy back.
