Simonson spent time with the Giants this offseason before he injured his ankle in their preseason finale and was waived following an injury settlement. With Evan Engram (foot) and Rhett Ellison (concussion) dealing with injuries, Simonson could be asked to suit up immediately next to Kaden Smith.

Simonson will go to the injured reserve with teammates Jonathan Anderson (knee), George Asafo-Adjei (concussion), Brittan Golden (calf), and Rod Smith (adductor).
