Shawn Morimando has re-signed a one-year contract with the CTBC Brothers of Taiwan’s Chinese Professional Baseball League.
Morimando latched on in the CPBL last October after making four major-league appearances with the Marlins during the 2021 campaign. The 29-year-old left-hander allowed 11 runs on 18 hits with a 9/5 K/BB ratio across 10 1/3 innings (four appearances, one start). He also logged 19 appearances (16 starts) at Triple-A Jacksonville before being released in early October. A minor-league journeyman at this stage of his career, he’ll look to build up his value overseas next year.
