The Cavs have signed Sir-Dominic Pointer to a 10-day contract.
Pointer has been playing with Cleveland’s G League affiliate, but now he’ll have 10 days to make his case to stay with the NBA team. It’s unlikely he’ll have any fantasy value, though.

Sir’Dominic Pointer is signing a two-year deal with Israeli team Hapoel Eilat.
The Cavs selected him with the 53rd pick in the 2015 Draft, but he’s not quite ready to make the jump to the NBA. We’ll keep an eye on his progress.

The Cavs selected St. John’s forward Sir’Dominic Pointer with the 53rd pick in the draft on Thursday night.
He’s viewed as a two-way player, but is a bit undersized at 6'5. Pointer was able to use his size at St. John’s, but he won’t get away with that at the NBA level. Expect him to join the D-League

According to Cavaliers general manager David Griffin, rookies Rakeem Christmas and Sir’Dominic Pointer may not make the final roster.
“We’re in a really unique situation roster-spot wise, where both of them could be effected by that,” Griffin said. “What we need are guys that can compete in championship caliber games. We ended up in a situation where we ran out of bodies in the Finals and guys that were ready to play significant minutes. And we’re going to need to have as complete of a roster as we possibly can.” The rookies will be buried on the bench in Cleveland anyways like Joe Harris was last season, so they won’t be options in fantasy leagues if they do make the final roster.

Cavs second round pick Sir’Dominic Porter is expected to play for the Canton Charge of the D-League.
Pointer is not expected to attend training camp with the Cavs, instead reporting to D-League training camp when it opens. Reportedly “intrigued with Pointer’s size and defensive tenacity,” the Cavs are hoping that an investment now will pay off later.

Cavs second-round pick Sir’Dominic Pointer will play for the Canton Charge in the D-League.
Pointer, along with camp cuts Quinn Cook, D.J. Stephens and Nick Minnerath will all suit up for Canton.
