Dele Alli has signed a new six-year contract at Tottenham Hotspur to keep him at White Hart Lane until 2022.
Alli, 20, only joined Spurs from third-tier MK Dons last summer but he became a regular last season winning the PFA Young Player of the Year award while also breaking in as a regular in the England national team as a teenager, plus he scored 10 goals and added 11 assists in 46 games in all competitions for Tottenham.
He was also named in the PFA Premier League Team of the Year in his first season in the PL. Quite astonishing.
Speaking to Tottenham’s website, Alli revealed his delight in signing a new deal as he joins fellow youngsters Eric Dier, Christian Eriksen, Tom Carroll and Harry Winks who recently extended their stay with Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
It is his ability to conjure up jaw-dropping moments like these below which has seen Alli become a cult hero among Spurs fans.

His loose style of play and ability to deliver the unexpected (see above) from an attacking role in midfield was pivotal in Spurs’ third-place Premier League finish last season and he continues to be influential for Tottenham as they take on a new challenge in the UEFA Champions League this season. Alli’s partnership with leading scorer Harry Kane has become almost telepathic and he is seen as a leading figure for Tottenham and the English national team for many years to come.
It has been quite a 12-month spell for the cheeky Englishman. He’s grateful he’s as Spurs and Spurs are certainly grateful to have him.
Delighted to sign a new deal with this amazing club, thank you to all the fans for your support so far🙌🏽👋🏽#COYS
