US Soccer’s Fabian Johnson and Julian Green have resumed training at their respective Bundesliga clubs ahead of the upcoming weekend of fixtures.
An issue with his Achilles tendon had ruled Johnson out for the recent internationals but he’s taken the much needed rest to improve his condition and could feature for Borussia Monchengladbach in this weekend’s contest at Hannover.
Speaking to the official club website Johnson said that he felt fine but would be keeping close tabs on the issue. In six matches with Gladback this year, Johnson has one assist and three clean sheets.
Green was sent back to Hamburg by US coach Jurgen Klinsmann following a week of training with the national team. The decision to return to Germany was a precautionary one following his inability to fully recover from bruised ribs suffered during a club match. “It makes more sense to fly back, pick up the training right away and break into that team,” Klinsmann said upon releasing Green last week.
Green, on loan from Bayern Munich, has featured in two matches for Hamburg this season is eligible to feature in Sunday’s match against Hoffenheim.
