Friendly matches have been arranged for the current international break -- for those European nations not taking part in the nail-biting playoffs for EURO 2016 at least -- in Europe with many of the big boys squaring off against one another.
Ahead of the 2016 European Championships in France next summer many of the favorites to lift that title meet with hosts France playing against World Cup champions Germany in Paris on Friday in a humdinger. Those teams last met in a 2014 World Cup quarterfinal. Elsewhere, England play against reigning two-time European champs Spain in Alicante, while the No. 1 ranked team in the world, Belgium, host Italy in Brussels. Another tasty clash see the Netherlands, who shockingly failed to qualify for the EURO 2016, head to Wales but Gareth Bale will play no part. More teams going to France next summer also meet on Friday with Poland and Iceland squaring off, plus Slovakia hosting Switzerland.
Also, another gem of a game is taking place in South America on Friday with Argentina vs. Brazil rescheduled following heavy rain in Buenos Aires on Thursday which caused the 2018 World Cup qualifier between the bitter rivals to be postponed. Also, the U.S. national team begin the Road to Russia as they host St. Vincent & The Grenadines in St. Louis.
Below is a full list of the friendlies involving European nations on Friday, with all kick offs at 2:45 p.m. ET unless stated otherwise. We will have reaction and analysis from these games so stay logged onto ProSoccerTalk.
