After signing with Chelsea in 2006, Ryan Bertrand has spent little time at Stamford Bridge.

The 25-year-old left-back has been on seven loan spells, currently playing for Ronald Koeman at Southampton.
Although his loan at Southampton is only for one season, Bertrand said he has been enjoying his time at St. Mary’s and that there is “no reason” for him to leave.

I think it is one of those things where I’ve got to wait and see.
But for me, there’s no reason why not, to be honest. It has been a great experience for me so far.
There is a good base to the club, we are pulling in the right direction and have fantastic players, manager and coaching staff.”
Bertrand has found regular first-team football at Saints and has been key to their hot start to the Premier League season. Southampton currently sit second on the table, while conceding a league-low five goals in nine matches.

A player of high-quality, Bertrand started for Chelsea in the 2012 Champions League final, which the Blues won in penalties over Bayern Munich. He has also earned two caps for the England national side, but hasn’t made an appearance since 2012.
Saints would surely welcome a permanent move for Bertrand as he has slipped in well to fill the void left by Luke Shaw’s departure to Manchester United. Pegged for a poor season by many, Southampton continue to shock the Premier League with their blazing hot start.
