Well, well. It’s happened, seemingly out of nowhere. But yet, was it really?
While many were calling for Brendan Rodgers’ head, it’s still hard not to feel that this news today following a 1-1 draw with Everton in the Merseyside derby was a touch rash.
Nevertheless, Liverpool announced less than an hour after the final whistle that Rodgers would not return, and they would use the international break to begin the search for a new manager.

The feeling across Twitter has been mixed, with some agreeing this move was imminent, and others surprised:

If Liverpool's owners had lost faith in Brendan Rodgers why give him such a brief chance to restore their confidence? Mismanagement by FSG.

Cheers Brendan Rodgers. Like him or not, he definitely loved the club. Heart always in right place. Can't question that. Farewell #WeGoAgain

Thank you Brendan Rodgers. You gave us a hell of a ride in 2014 against all odds. You had a decent run but now, change is needed. Thank you!

FSG will surely have BR replacement agreed in principle. International break is not that long. Ancelotti and Klopp front runners #LFC
