While it wasn’t the fanciest finish, Julian Green has already made an impression on new Bayern Munich manager Carlo Ancelotti.

The U.S. Men’s National Team attacker scored Bayern’s first goal of the preseason on Saturday, giving the team an early lead over German fifth division side SV Lippstadt.

After Arjen Robben’s close-range effort was saved by the Lippstadt goalkeeper, Green was perfectly positioned on the doorstep to tap home the rebound and give Bayern the advantage.

The 21-year-old continued his impressive outing just minutes into the second half when the winger played in a dangerous cross from the right flank, forcing an own goal out of the lunging Lippstadt defender.

Green nearly created another goal in the 79th minute, delivering a superb free kick into the penalty area, but after a scrum the ball landed in the goalkeeper’s arms. The U.S. midfielder then exited the match just minutes later.
