Lynden Gooch has signed a contract extension with Sunderland and is set to be at the Stadium of Light through 2019.
The 20-year-old American had been on loan at Doncaster Rovers before an ankle injury ended his season. Prior to that, he impressed with the Sunderland U-21s, winning league player of the month for his work in August.

He took his senior bow for Sunderland in the League Cup, entering as a sub for then-manager Dick Advocaat in a win over Exeter City.
