With the exception of his two-homer, six-RBI game against the Cubs on May 20, Iguchi has been slumping over the last month. He had gone his last five starts without an RBI or a run scored. The three hits today pushed his average back up to .286.

  • INT 2nd Baseman
Tadahito Iguchi had a three-run homer in the eighth and a game-tying grand slam in the ninth, but the White Sox still lost to the Astros in extra innings on Sunday night.
It was quite an effort, but a happy ending wasn’t in the cards. Before taking Russ Springer deep in the eighth, Iguchi hadn’t homered since his two-homer, six-RBI game against the Cubs on May 30. Overall, more than a third of his 37 RBI have come in two games.
  • INT 2nd Baseman

Dye was able to remain in. Iguchi is probably going to miss at least a couple of games. Alex Cintron, who took his place tonight, will fill in at second base. Pablo Ozuna is an alternative, but he’s limited by a strained hamstring.
