Garvin

An undrafted free agent out of West Virginia, Garvin racked up 13 preseason tackles. He’ll contribute on special teams if he’s active on game days.

Garvin played just 58 defensive snaps in 2016 but is a standout special teamer.

Garvin was not tendered as a restricted free agent by the Steelers. Redskins GM Scot McCloughan has focused on building Washington’s roster from the bottom up, an analytics-approved method that paid dividends in McCloughan’s first year. Garvin has 20 special teams tackles over the past two seasons.

He previously visited the Redskins. Garvin is a 25-year-old special teamer.

Now 25, Garvin is a reserve inside linebacker and special teamer.

Garvin played 195 snaps last season, making three starts. Miami has one of the worst linebacker groups, but Garvin should focus on special teams.
