Jaguars waived RB Deji Karim, LB JoJo Dickson, LB Jammie Kirlew, K Sam Swank, CB Trumaine McBride, and LB Stephen Franklin.
Karim boasts impressive measurables, but he fell out of favor down the stretch last season after averaging just 2.1 yards on 63 carries as Maurice Jones-Drew’s backup. He could draw interest as a kickoff-return candidate.

Jaguars signed CB Trumaine McBride and promoted DE Jammie Kirlew from the practice squad.
McBride adds depth to an injury-ravaged secondary. He’s played in 47 games with 10 starts since entering the league as a Bears seventh-round pick in 2007. A two-time All-Big Ten selection, Kirlew was a seventh-round pick by the Bears in 2010.

    Jaguars re-signed CB Trumaine McBride.
McBride spent one game on the Jaguars’ active roster last season. A seventh-round pick of the Bears in 2007, McBride has made 48 career appearances, but only 16 since 2008. It’s doubtful he’s more than a camp body for the Jags.

Mike Adams was the starting corner across from Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie at the Cardinals’ minicamp.
This may just be a seniority issue. Second-year man Greg Toler was the No. 4 corner at minicamp even though Adams was benched in favor of Toler during the playoffs. Trumaine McBride, who was cut by the Bears last year, ran as the nickel man. Clearly, corner is a major concern for the Cardinals.

Giants DC Steve Spagnuolo said slot corner remains “a pretty big unanswered question.”
Trumaine McBride should be viewed as the favorite for the job, but Spags also mentioned Josh Gordy and Mike Harris as options. With Prince Amukamara and Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie outside, the Giants have a glut of talent at corner. New York will hope that strength can hide their deficiencies at safety.

ESPN New York considers Giants CB Trumaine McBride the favorite for slot duties.
With Prince Amukamara and Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie returning on the outside, McBride is competing with Mike Harris and Josh Gordy for the No. 3 corner job. McBride missed the majority of 2014 to thumb surgery, but will be healthy for the start of training camp.

Both ESPN New York and the Newark Star-Ledger hint Giants CB Trumaine McBride may be competing for a roster spot.
McBride started ten games last season and broke up 15 passes while grading out as a top-24 corner at PFF. The Giants then inked him to a new two-year, $3.1 million deal. But it only includes $100,000 guaranteed, and the Giants have injected talent into their corner group. McBride is currently the No. 5. The team is high on youngster Charles James and used a draft pick on Bennett Jackson.
  • FA Defensive Back
The Giants are close to re-signing free agents CB Trumaine McBride and K Josh Brown.
They should both be back on affordable deals. McBride, 28, was a revelation after taking over as a starter due to injuries in 2013, excelling in spot duty. We’re a bit surprised he wasn’t more anxious to test his market worth.

Giants re-signed CB Trumaine McBride to a two-year, $3.1 million contract.
Filling in for washed-up Corey Webster last season, McBride started 10 games opposite Prince Amukamara and batted 15 passes with two picks. He quietly finished as a top-24 corner in PFF’s ratings. Ideally, McBride would be a No. 3 or 4 and play special teams. The G-Men are still in the market for cornerback help.

CB Trumaine McBride exited the Giants’ preseason opener with a hamstring injury.
He is out for the rest of the game. McBride is expected to serve as the Giants’ primary slot corner this season. He is the third member of New York’s already thin secondary to exit the game due to injury.
