Dallas took SF Tyler Bey out of Colorado with the 36th pick of the NBA Draft.
Bey will have to compete with newly acquired Josh Richardson for minutes in Dallas, which isn’t a great setup. Bey is technically undersized at 6'7", but his 7-foot wingspan allows him to play bigger. He was the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year in his third and final season at Colorado, averaging 13.8 points, 9.0 rebounds, 1.5 steals and 1.2 blocks per game. At just 197 pounds, though, he’ll need to put on some muscle to contend with bigs at the NBA level -- or learn to be more comfortable on the perimeter.
