Released by the Lynx on August 29, Taylor did not have to wait long to rejoin the roster. Per league rules, Minnesota needed to wait until Sunday to have the necessary cap space to fit Taylor onto the roster. Due to Monday’s transaction, she will be eligible to play in the postseason. Taylor has appeared in two games for Minnesota, most recently seeing action during the final minute of the team’s August 28 loss to Seattle.
  • Signed to two separate seven-day contracts, Taylor has been waived by the Lynx. Her departure may be a sign that Napheesa Collier is closing in on a return from her sprained ankle, as the MVP candidate was questionable for Thursday’s loss to the Dream before being ruled out. Minnesota visits Indiana on Friday in the second game of a back-to-back before returning home to host the Fever on Sunday.
  • Taylor spent the past two training camps this year and last year with the Lynx, so she’s very familiar with how the Lynx run their offense and defense. With Napheesa Collier out for an extended period of time and potentially some time missed for Jessica Shepard who is now questionable for Friday night’s game against the Mystics, adding another forward made sense for the Lynx. Head coach Cheryl Reeve noted in a pregame presser on Friday that Taylor will be available to play.
  • Daniels and Taylor were among the four players waived by the Lynx on Wednesday. The former was the 24th overall pick in last month’s draft but did not see any action in Tuesday’s exhibition loss to the Sky. As for Taylor, the former Virginia standout camped with the Lynx two consecutive years but was unable to make the final roster. Like Daniels, she saw no action in Tuesday’s exhibition game. Minnesota also waived forward Ajae Petty and guard Diamond Johnson.
