Dallas Wings vs Minnesota Lynx Game Preview:
The Wings, under new head coach Jose Fernandez — the franchise’s fifth coach in the last seven seasons — have already reached their combined win total of 19 from the previous two seasons.
Paige Bueckers and Arike Ogunbowale have been key players in the Wings’ success. Bueckers, the 2025 Rookie of the Year, leads Dallas in scoring. Although Ogunbowale, the longest tenured player on the roster, is averaging a career-low in points per game, her efficiency from the field has improved while committing fewer turnovers.
“I don’t think a lot of people are giving Arike the credit that she deserves on the type of year that she’s having… She’s had to change a lot of things, going away from being a high-volume guy to now sharing it, putting it down on the deck, getting downhill,” said Fernandez.
The Wings look to make the playoffs for the first time since 2023.
The Minnesota Lynx own the best record in the league entering Sunday’s matchup.
Olivia Miles, who was the second overall pick in this year’s draft, leads Minnesota in both scoring and assists. Miles was the only rookie this season to be named a starter for the All-Star game.
Napheesa Collier, who missed the first 27 games of the season after undergoing offseason surgery on both ankles, ranks second on the team in scoring. The five-time All-Star returned to the lineup on July 22.
