ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports the Bengals won’t tender restricted free agent DL Wyatt Ray.
Ray, 25, will become a free agent after one season with the Bengals. He played in 15 games and started just one game for Cincinnati in 2021, totaling 15 tackles and one forced fumble.

    Titans signed DL Wyatt Ray.
Recently released by the Jets, Ray joins his fourth team in two years. He’s the grandson of the late Nat King Cole, and the nephew of the late Natalie Cole. Adjust the ranks.

NFL Media analyst Wyatt Ray compared Boston College DL Wyatt Ray to Buffalo Bills DL Eli Harold.
Ray (6'3/257) was a favorite of many after his solid senior season, but there are concerns about his upside and how his game translates to the next level. The same thing was said about Harold when he left Virginia, to a lesser degree. " His wingspan is a plus in his favor and he flashes potential as a developmental pass rusher,” writes Zierlein. “He is a potential Day 3 3-4 outside linebacker who will need to show up on special teams early.”

Bleacher Report’s Matt Miller compared Boston College DL Wyatt Ray to Philadelphia Eagles DL Joe Ostman.
Miller writes that Ray was “a blast to watch as he worked his way to top-tier production” at Boston College, but has questions about his speed and power. The analyst sees the 6-foot-3, 257-pounder’s NFL upside capped at a backup role. Miller hits Ray up with a sixth-round grade for next weekend’s big show.

Boston College DL Wyatt Ray recorded the 20-yard shuttle in 4.31 seconds at the NFL Scouting Combine.
Ray (6'3/257) finishes towards the top of the class in the agility drills, but he does weigh less than most of the other edge rushers at the event. In the other events, Ray tested pretty average, finishing with a 4.83-second forty and a 34-inch vertical. During the 2018 season, Ray showed “solid bend and burst” which resulted in 11.5 tackles for loss and nine sacks. Ray appears to be on the Day 2/3 borderline.

Boston College senior DL Wyatt Ray accepted an invitation to the East-West Shrine Game.
Ray didn’t get the hubbub that fellow defensive lineman Zach Allen did, but he did have a solid 2018 season with nine sacks and 11.5 tackles for loss. The Draft Network’s Brad Kelly noted that he has “solid bend and burst” and the 6-foot-3, 255-pound edge-rusher has solid size for an edge-rusher. We’re intrigued to see what kind of reports Ray comes out with after the practices and games.

The Draft Network’s Brad Kelly came away impressed with Boston College senior DL Wyatt Ray after his play against Wake Forest on Thursday.
It was easy to come away impressed, to be fair, as Ray had four sacks in the victory over the Demon Deacons. The 6-foot-3, 255-pound defender was able to beat the Wake FOrest offensive line from both sides of the line -- as Kelly notes -- and Kelly notes that he showed “solid bend and burst.” He also noted Ray’s impressive size (6'3/255) for an edge-rusher, and his ability to beat defenders with hand swipes as well as a quick first step. Zach Allen and Lukas Denis get most of the hype, but Ray gives the Eagles another potential NFL defender.
