Bengals signed WR Alonzo Russell, DT David Dean, DE Ryan Brown, CB Tony McRae and OG Alex Redmond to reserve/future contracts.
Russell was a size/speed prospect out of Toledo last spring. A limited athlete, he caught only three preseason passes. His 53-man roster odds won’t be that great in 2017.

Bengals signed Toledo WR Alonzo Russell.
Russell (6'4/206) was a four-year starter and four-time All-MAC pick for the Rockets, capping his career with 202 catches for 3,076 yards (15.2 YPR) and 24 touchdowns. Although he ran a respectable 4.54 forty in Indy, Russell’s athletic limitations showed up in the vertical (29 1/2") and broad (9'4") jumps. Russell looks the part with a big body and 33 7/8-inch arms, but he frustrated on film with inconsistent effort and struggles versus press-man coverage. Russell was an effective lower-level college wideout whose game is unlikely to translate.
