Free agent OG Chance Warmack is visiting the Seahawks.
Seattle is the same team that released Warmack earlier this offseason after he opted out of the 2020 campaign. The former No. 10 overall pick will turn 30 later this year and hasn’t played a regular-season down of football since 2018.

  • Seahawks released OL Chance Warmack.
A former first-round selection with 51 starts under his belt, the 29-year-old sat out all of 2019 to get in shape then most recently opted out of the 2020 season altogether. He hasn’t taken a rep in the regular season since December 2018.

  • Seahawks G Chance Warmack has taken the voluntary opt-out for the 2020 season.
Warmack signed in late March on a one-year contract after sitting out the 2019 season in order to replenish his health. The veteran guard lost a family member to COVID-19. The Seahawks likely won’t look for a replacement after selecting G Damien Lewis in the third-round.

  • Seahawks sign OG Chance Warmack, formerly of the Eagles, to a one-year contract.
Warmack sat out the 2019 season to get healthy. He was with Philadelphia in 2018 but did not start a single game. He’s a former first-round selection with 51 starts under his belt. Warmack won’t start in Seattle but does add depth to an offensive line that PFF ranked 27th last season.
  • Free agent OL Chance Warmack “has visits lined up with teams.”
The visits are on hold with the NFL shutting down travel over COVID-19. Warmack sat out last season after a failed two-year stint with the Eagles. He would be limited to a backup role if he lands a deal.
  • Alabama OG Chance Warmack measured 6-foot-2, 317 at Thursday’s Combine weigh-in.
He’s an inch shorter and three pounds lighter than his 6'3/320 college listing. While the weigh-in might seem slightly disappointing, Warmack has ostensibly shed weight in order to run a faster forty time and move better in agility drills. More impressively, Warmack possesses ridiculous 34 3/4-inch arms.
  • Alabama OG Chance Warmack ran forty times of 5.55 and 5.53 at the NFL Scouting Combine.
The consensus top player in this draft among avid game-tape watchers, Warmack’s forty times are not surprising for a 6-foot-2, 317-pound interior offensive lineman whose strength isn’t straight-line speed. Warmack, who did not bench in Indy, will perform a complete workout at Alabama’s Pro Day next month.
  • SI’s Peter King writes that he “heard guard a lot” over the weekend when discussing the Bills’ first-round selection at No. 8.
Per King, rookie coach Doug Marrone is “figuring” he can acquire Syracuse QB Ryan Nassib later in the round by “moving up 10 or 15 spots” from the Bills’ second-round slot at No. 41. Coming away with Chance Warmack -- to replace Andy Levitre -- and a quarterback of the future would look pretty nice on paper for Buffalo. Keep in mind GM Buddy Nix only has six draft picks worth of ammo.
  • NFL scouts reportedly say Alabama OG Chance Warmack has a problem with “excessive sweating,” which can lead to weardown in the fourth quarter of games.
Warmack at times required in-game IVs at Alabama, so he’ll have to learn to hydrate better in the pros. It’s interesting, but obviously not a huge concern for Warmack’s draft stock. “He’s one of those guys like Will Shields that will just sit in there and play until they retire him,” one scout said. “Country boy from Georgia. He’s kind of a road grader in the run game and a fire hydrant in the passing game. You’re not going to move him off his spot.”
  • According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, a guard “WILL” be among the first 10 selections Thursday evening.
“Book it,” Schefter confidently tweeted. Both UNC’s Jonathan Cooper and Alabama’s Chance Warmack have been connected to numerous teams in the top-ten, and Schefter clearly has reason to believe it’s not all baseless speculation. The Lions reportedly “love” Cooper, while Warmack has been linked to both the Lions and Cardinals.
