After leaving Auburn, Anthony Swain moves on to Southern Miss

Nearly five months after parting ways with Auburn, Anthony Swain has found a new home for his final year of college football.

According to the Hattiesburg American, Swain has transferred into the Southern Miss football program. Because the linebacker has already graduated from AU, he will be eligible to play immediately in 2015.

Southern Miss, it should be noted, has yet to officially announce the addition of Swain to its roster.

Swain, a three-star member of AU’s 2011 recruiting class, played in 37 games the past three seasons. He was primarily a special teams player in 2012, then served as a backup linebacker the past two years.

The spring of 2014 for Swain was spent in Gus Malzahn’s doghouse before climbing out in late May.
