It appears that an injury scare at practice Sunday has ended on a positive note for a member of Wisconsin’s secondary.
Jeff Potrykus of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel writes that Derrick Tindal, “listed at 5 foot 11 and 174 pounds, went low in an attempt to tackle tailback Taiwan Deal (6-0, 216). He led with his head and his helmet appeared to hit Deal’s leg.” After being tended to by team medical personnel, the cornerback was strapped to a backboard and taken to a local hospital via ambulance for further evaluation of a possible head/neck injury.
UW subsequently reported that Tindal had movement in his extremities. In a tweet posted to his Twitter account Monday morning, the corner let everyone know he’s OK.
There’s no word yet on when Tindal will be able to return to spring practice. The Badgers have six practice sessions remaining, including the spring game.
As a true freshman last season, Tindal played in nine games.
