Big 12’s Bowlsby says he would have voted TCU ahead of Baylor

Baylor head coach had some strong words aimed at the College Football Playoff selection committee and Big 12 commissioner Bob Bowlsby after his Bears were locked out of the first College Football Playoff field on Sunday. He might have some even stronger statements to make after recent comments by Bowlsby.

Asked about how Bowlsby would have compared TCU and Baylor, the Big 12’s co-champions of 2014, if he had a seat on the College Football Playoff selection committee, the Big 12 commissioner said he would have ranked TCU ahead of Baylor.

Gotta punt that Q, BB RT @andrewperloff: Bob Bowlsby says if he was a selection member he would have voted for TCU for 4th spot, not Baylor.

The role of the commissioner is to promote the conference as a whole on a national platform. Bowlsby should probably avoid getting in the middle of the whole TCU vs. Baylor debate, because choosing sides does not have a good look for a commissioner. That look especially looks bad when Baylor defeated TCU in the regular season, and earlier in the year Bowlsby stated Baylor would be awarded the Big 12’s top bowl spot if a decision had to be made between co-champions.
