The picture of the mangled vehicle shown in this post was one in which Chad Jones was either driving or riding in -- we still haven’t been able to determine which -- very early this morning.
Amazingly, the former LSU safety somehow, miraculously, survived.
According to WWL-TV, Jones was involved in a serious crash in his hometown of New Orleans at around 5 a.m. local time Friday morning. Jones is listed in guarded condition at a local hospital.
LSU head coach Les Miles was made aware of Jones’ accident, and sent out the following tweet just a short time ago.
“Just got news about Chad Jones’ car accident. We are praying for Chad and his family. Keep him in your prayers.”
Jones, who won a national title in both football and baseball while at LSU, was a third-round pick of the New York Giants in the 2010 NFL draft.
As noted by Miles, keep Jones and anyone else involved in that horrific accident in your thoughts and/or prayers.
UPDATED 11:48 a.m. ET: Here’s the latest from WWL-TV on Jones’ condition:
