It’s been a little less than two months since Jordan Campbell announced he was “transferring” from USC, and just over a month since the linebacker announced that he was taking his talents to Louisville.
As of this afternoon, however, his status as a Cardinal is still very much up in the air.
At the Big East’s media days (yes, that conference has one of those too), new head coach Charlie Strong revealed that Campbell has yet to make it on campus, and he has no clue when or even if the LB will ultimately land in Louisville.
“I don’t know... Jordan has just got to get some things worked out where he is right now,” Strong told the Louisville Courier-Journal.
Campbell was reinstated to the Trojans in April after being suspended for for missing classes/tutoring. At the time of his decision to transfer, he was on the verge of being booted off the team entirely.
Whether this latest development is related to Campbell’s previous issues is uncertain, but there seems to be a pattern here that would make Strong strongly consider quietly walking away from the situation.
