Cardale Jones revealed on Twitter that he will, apparently, not be an Ohio State Buckeye next season. One of his teammates indicated the same in his post-game meeting with the media, and did so with some not-so-kind words for how he was utilized in the Buckeyes’ first loss since September of last year.
In the 17-14 loss to Michigan State that ended a 23-game winning streak, Ezekiel Elliott ran the ball just 13 times in a game that absolutely called for “feeding the beast.” Many observers were astounded at the lack of touches the (former?) Heisman candidate received.
Among the astounded was Elliott himself, who didn’t even remotely bite his tongue in criticizing the play-calling.
Elliott: "I deserve more than 11 carries. I really do. I can't speak for the playcaller. I don't know what was going on."

Elliott said he was lobbying Meyer to call more plays for him: "We weren't put in the right situation to win this game."

While not nearly as direct and to-the-point as his running back, Urban Meyer wasn’t pleased with the play-calling either, although, as head coach, he certainly has the power to rectify anything going awry or he sees is amiss -- like your star back getting just three second-half carries.
“No, I was not content,” Meyer said when asked about the play-calling.
Finally, Elliott also confirmed what most had thought was the obvious as he announced that this will be his final season at OSU. And, as was the case when it came to play-calling, he did so very emphatically.
Ezekiel Elliott: "Honestly, that was my last game at the Shoe. There's no chance I'm coming back next year."
