Former Baylor RB Silas Nacita still battles eligibility issue in NAIA

It is beginning to look as though the college football gods are not happy with Silas Nacita, for reasons beyond comprehension.

Nacita, once ruled ineligible for accepting help of a friend (by Baylor, and not the NCAA, has now apparently been ruled ineligible by the NAIA, where he is looking to continue his college football career. Nacita shared the unfortunate news and situation to his followers on Twitter.

According to Nacita, no waiver was ever granted when he made the decision to transfer to Southwestern Assemblies of God at the NAIA level, which meant his NCAA suspension essentially carried over. For those unfamiliar, the NAIA is a separate collegiate sports association from the NCAA, operating under its own jurisdiction and comprising member institutions from smaller schools more on par with Division 2 or Division 3 schools. In other words, it is quite a leap from the two-time defending Big 12 championship program Nacita previously called home. But the dream of playing college football by any means necessary appears to be a challenging one for Nacita, who admitted before to breaking the rules.

Well, new news from the NAIA. I won’t be eligible to play football there either. That changes things...

Not completely sure, but essentially the suspension transferred over because no waiver was ever granted https://t.co/57M7KClsV6

Here’s hoping someone with some common sense and decency can find a way to make things work out in this situation. Nacita may have broken a rule, but by all accounts it seems as though it was not a violation that should end his playing career. Somebody let this kid play some football.
