Washington State got a boost on Sunday when former Texas A&M receiver Sebastian LaRue revealed to CougFan.com his intentions to transfer to the Palouse to play for the Cougars and Mike Leach.
LaRue, a 4-star recruit out of Santa Monica, Calif., signed with the Aggies during the last recruiting cycle (he was a one-time USC commit) but appeared only briefly in one game on special teams this past fall, making one tackle.
He cited his desire to play closer to home as a reason for leaving College Station (but is Pullman that much closer to SoCal?) and will apparently appeal to the NCAA for a waiver to the transfer rule, which would normally require him to sit out one season before playing for the Cougars.
LaRue is a small, but explosive athlete who is excellent with the ball in his hands. He’ll fit in nicely in WSU’s offense and also contribute as a kick and punt returner.
