Tuesday was not a good day for football in the state of West Virginia.
First, Marshall defensive back Brian Robinson was arrested, and subsequently kicked off the team, for domestic battery and carrying a concealed weapon
Now, the Dominion Post has reported that former West Virginia cornerback Brandon Hogan was arrested yesterday for driving with a suspended license after allegedly being involved in a minor car accident in Morgantown. The city’s DMV also noted that the Toyota Hogan was driving was not registered in his name.
Hogan was given a $2,500 personal recognizance bond and was free to leave court after the incident.
Hogan’s license was suspended after he was arrested for a DUI in September. Coach Bill Stewart then suspended Hogan from the team indefinitely, before allowing him to return prior to the Mountaineers’ game against LSU.
Hogan is projected by ESPN to be a mid-round draft pick. However, there are (shocker alert) serious concerns about his character issues. Yesterday’s arrest was the latest in a long series of problems for the Virginia native, which have included both off-the-field and academic shortcomings.
Unfortunately, Hogan is the kind of guy who just can’t seem to stay out of trouble, even if he’s not looking for any.
