A week after breaking a school record, Jarrett Boykin will find himself on the sidelines watching his Virginia Tech teammates take on Marshall Saturday.
In their injury report released Thursday, the Hokies announced that the wide receiver has been ruled out of the Herd game due to a hamstring injury. Boykin worked his way through hamstring issues during summer camp; it’s unclear if it’s a residual issue or a new one, or even when the issue arose again.
With Boykin out, junior D.J. Coles will likely get the nod as he’s listed behind the junior on the depth chart.
In last Saturday’s win over East Carolina, Boykin set the school’s all-time record for career receptions, moving past Ernest Wilford‘s 126. He’s currently second on the Hokies with 11 catches this season.
