Jeff Quinn, the interim head coach at Cincinnati for next month’s Sugar Bowl date against Florida, interviewed for the Buffalo head coaching position vacated by Turner Gil, the Buffalo News reports.
Here’s the full report from Rodney McKissic:
Jeff Quinn, who will led Cincinnati in next month’s Sugar Bowl, interviewed with UB on Monday, according to a source. Quinn is also a candidate for the head coaching job at Cincinnati, who is looking to replace Brian Kelly who left for Notre Dame. Interim coach Danny Barrett remains on Warde Manuel’s radar.
No word on whether Barrett has scheduled an interview. Attempts to reach Manuel have been unsuccessful.
Yahoo! Sports’ Tom Dienhart expects the coaching search for the Bearcats to wrap up by the end of the week. If Quinn gets either the Cincinnati or Buffalo job, Kelly’s move at offensive coordinator could be a wild card.
