Kent State has indefinitely suspended safety Nate Holley following a charge for first degree felony kidnapping, according to a report from Record-Courier in Ohio.
The incident that led to the charge and suspension reportedly happened Thursday night. Details regarding the incident involving a female last Thursday are scarce, but clearly the university and football program saw enough to make a decision to issue a suspension while the legal process plays out.
“We are aware of the situation and take this matter very seriously,” Kent State Executive Director of University Media Relations Eric Mansfield said in a brief statement. “He has been suspended from the team indefinitely.”
According to the Ohio newspaper, Holley is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Thursday.
