The Ohio State Buckeyes are not going to be looking beyond this year’s first College Football Playoff -- the Buckeyes will face Alabama in the Sugar Bowl in a semifinal match-up between the champions of the Big Ten and SEC -- but the big question for the Buckeyes in 2015 is something everyone wants to know the answer. That, apparently, includes the NBA’s Cleveland Cavaliers.
During a game tonight, the Cavs asked fans which quarterback will be Ohio State’s starter in 2015. The options were Braxton Miller, J.T. Barrett and Cleveland native Cardale Jones. Of course, the first question to answer is whether or not all three will still be in Columbus in 2015.The fan poll at the Cavs game tonight. For real, a tie. Jones came through with a huge performance in his first start for Ohio State last weekend in the Big Ten championship game victory over Wisconsin. Jones will lead the offense against Alabama in the Sugar Bowl, his second career start. Jones replaced Barrett as the starter after Barrett had started each game of the regular season and become a household name and possible Heisman candidate. An ankle injury to Barrett ended his season in the last week of the season against Michigan.Barrett, of course, took over the reigns of the offense from another Heisman hopeful, Miller. Miller was the two-time Silver Football winner in the Big Ten but never played a down this season after undergoing shoulder surgery shortly before the start of the season. So, where will Ohio State turn in 2015? Who knows? The realistic possibility that one of these talented quarterbacks transfers in search of a chance for a starting gig elsewhere seems to be in play, although most of that talk is just rumors right now.
