A torn labrum kept Janoris Jenkins out of Florida’s Outback Bowl win Penn State earlier this year. Now, the same injury will limit him the spring before the senior season.
Saying “he just got out of the sling two weeks ago”, Will Muschamp acknowledged that the cornerback will not be a full participant in his -- Muschamp’s, not Jenkins’ -- first spring practice as Florida’s head coach.
“There is no contact,” Muschamp said. “He felt like he could help the situation by coming back and getting his shoulder healthy.”
The “situation” Muschamp is referring to, thank God, has nothing to do with Jersey Shore, but rather Jenkins’ draft stock; the defensive back eschewed an early jump to the NFL draft back in January to remain in Gainesville for an additional season.
Jenkins, who was also arrested two weeks after deciding to stay at UF for rolling a joint in a public restroom, has started 36 games in his Gator career.
