The Pac-12 reprimanded Washington coach Steve Sarkisian for “comments to the media this week regarding Pac-12 officiating and the Conference’s officiating process, including disclosing private communications he had with the Conference office,” per a press release sent out Thursday.
Earlier this week, Sarkisian said (via the Seattle Times) the Pac-12 reached out to apologize for a hands to the face call on offensive lineman Dexter Charles that wiped out a touchdown in Washington’s 41-31 loss to UCLA last Friday. The Pac-12 told Sarkisian the call should not have been made, and the touchdown -- which would’ve cut UCLA’s lead to 27-14 -- shoud’ve stood.
Revealing that information led to the Pac-12 levying some sort of penalty on Sarkisian, though it’s not known if a fine was part of the punishment.
