Pair of Ok. St. linemen popped for drug paraphernalia

Two members of the Oklahoma State football program are the latest to find themselves in a bit of a legal predicament over the past couple of days.

According to the Daily Oklahoman, defensive lineman Christian Littlehead and offensive linemen Jonathan Rush have each been charged with one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. The charges were filed Monday following an incident late last week.

Here is the paper’s account of what led to the issues for the players:

The charges, both misdemeanors, stem from an incident last Thursday, when Littlehead and Rush allegedly “knowingly possessed and controlled a homemade smoking device with a white lid containing burnt residue and a homemade smoking device with a black lid containing burnt residue,” at Stilington Hall, according to the initial filing at the Payne County Courthouse.

OSU officials are aware of the incident and are handling the issue internally. There was no word on whether Littlehead will be available for the Cowboys’ Fiesta Bowl matchup with Stanford.

Rush will not be available regardless as he suffered a season-ending injury in September. Littlehead, on the other hand, has played in all 12 games this season for the Cowboys, starting a couple of those contests, and has been credited with two tackles for loss and one sack.
