When it comes to whether or not Joker Phillips will return as Kentucky’s head coach for the 2013 season, the talk inevitably turns to the nice guy coach’s track record in Lexington.
Entering today’s game against Vanderbilt, that would be 12-22 overall, 4-18 in SEC play. In conference play this season, the Wildcats have lost all six by a combined total of 142 points.
The won-loss record on its own certainly portends an unemployment line in Phillips’ future. Add in a photo? The future’s further crystallized:
That would be Commonwealth Stadium in Lexington shortly before kickoff against the Commodores.
And that apathy would be the fork stuck in Joker. He’s done, as is UK today; as of this posting, Vandy is up 27-0 at the half.
UPDATED 4:44 p.m. ET: Vanderbilt finished off its drubbing of Kentucky, heading back to Nashville with a 40-0 whitewashing.
