Purdue has one less option along its defensive line this year.
New Boilermakers head coach Darrell Hazell confirmed Wednesday that senior defensive tackle Brandon Taylor has left the team because of academic issues.
In 10 games for Purdue last season, Taylor (pictured, bottom right) recorded 11 tackles and 1.5 sacks. He was expected to have a bigger role for the Boilermakers this year, including possibly landing a starting job. Bruce Gaston and Ryan Isaac, who has played in 26 games over his career with Purdue, should be in a position to be a big contributors for Hazell this fall.
