Already ruled out of this Saturday’s game with Florida, Rashawn Scott will not so unexpectedly be out a bit longer after that as well.
Head coach Al Golden confirmed Wednesday afternoon that the wide receiver will miss the next month or so. It had previously been reported that Scott would miss 4-6 weeks with a broken collarbone, although Golden has declined to get that specific with the nature of the injury.
A four-week timeframe could get Scott back on the field in time for the ACC opener against Georgia Tech Oct. 5.
Scott suffered the injury in the season-opening win over FAU last Friday. Prior to that, he had two catches for 28 yards.
With 35 catches for 512 yards last season, Scott was the Hurricanes’ second-leading receiver.
