(Yes, it’s a slow news day thus far. Bear with us.)
The Egg Bowl proved costly for a non-playing member of the Mississippi State football program.
By way of SBNation.com, it’s being reported that MSU’s “Bully” mascot suffered a compound fracture during the fourth quarter of the Bulldogs’ overtime win over archrival Ole Miss. The cause of the injury? One of ESPN’s camera carts.
The mascot, who by day is a MSU student, underwent surgery last night to repair the damage after being taken off the sidelines on a stretcher.
On Twitter, MSU athletic director Scott Stricklin offered his thoughts on the young lady involved in the accident:
Keep Michaela Mills in your prayers. She's the MSU student in the Bully costume who broke her leg last night. Get well soon. #HailState
