UConn players, including kicker, charged in Husky-on-Husky fight

Those volatile placekickers and their unstable mean streaks will get you every single time.

UConn head coach Randy Edsall announced Tuesday that a pair of his players were arrested and charged with breach of peace following a fight. With each other.

Facing the second-degree misdemeanors are Jerome Williams and Dave Teggart; the former is a 5-11, 233-pound linebacker, while the latter is a 6-0, 207-pound kicker.

Edsall said any discipline would be handled internally, although it appears likely neither will face a suspension.

“It will be handled internally and I hope they take that aggression on the field to the other people rather than themselves,” Edsall said. “Nowadays, as well all know, when there’s a little spat, they don’t just tell you to go home or anything like that. Now you get arrested, written up for breach of peace.”

Teggart’s leads the Huskies in scoring with 35 points, hitting on 7-of-11 field-goal attempts and all 14 PATs.
