A scary collision with an Auburn player left Georgia safety Bacarri Rambo with both a concussion and a one-night -- at least -- hospital stay, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution is reporting.
Rambo was injured in a collision with Mario Fannin late in the fourth quarter of the Bulldogs’ win. The defensive back was temporarily knocked unconscious and remained on the field for over ten minutes, but he had movement in all extremities before being taken off the field on a stretcher.
As of this afternoon, Rambo remains hospitalized.
“He was unconscious for a little while,” head coach Mark Richt said. “When he came to, he moved every single part of his body. We think it’s a concussion, and he didn’t have any neck pain. The great news is, we don’t feel like it’s anything very serious in the long term.”
Richt is expected to update Rambo’s status when he meets with the media this evening.
