It is crunch time for underclassmen to decide to stay in school or enter the NFL Draft. With a day to go until the deadline, USC wide receiver George Farmer has decided to give the NFL a shot.
Farmer will forgo his senior season at USC and will enter the 2015 NFL Draft.
“This was a hard decision, one I thought over long and hard,” Farmer said in a statement Wednesday. “I received input from my family and the coaches, and ultimately it was my decision. I feel like l am ready for the next level, so I am forgoing my senior year and I will work hard to prepare for the NFL.”
Farmer recorded 30 catches for 363 yards and four touchdowns in his career at USC. That total includes 25 receptions for 314 yards and four touchdowns in 11 games for the Trojans in 2014. Those may not be numbers that jump out and scream at you as a reason to enter the NFL Draft now, but keep in mind he did make a position change at USC from running back. According to a quick scouting report from Rotoworld, Farmer should not expect to hear his name called until the third day of the draft.
