Wake Forest loses QB Kendall Hinton for the year to knee injury

The latest in a long and growing line of quarterbacks lost for the year to injury, Wake Forest announced Tuesday Kendall Hinton will not return this season due to a nagging knee injury.

Hinton sprained his left PCL during the Demons’ win over Delaware in September and then “tweaked” it again this week, according to head coach Dave Clawson.

Before the injury, Hinton split time with John Wolford at quarterback. He completed 11-of-19 passes for 174 yards with an interception while rushing 25 times for 125 yards and two scores over Wake’s first three games, all of them wins.

Wolford has handled the quarterbacking duties solo since then, and for the season he’s hit 127-of-225 throws for 1,313 yards with five touchdowns and seven interceptions whilst rushing 94 times for 456 yards and six touchdowns in nine games.

Clawson indicated Hinton will apply for a medical redshirt in an effort to return to Winston-Salem for the 2018 season.
