Want to go to the biggest Egg Bowl ever? Be ready to pay up

The last time Mississippi State and Ole Miss were both ranked for the Egg Bowl was 1999, when the Bulldogs were No. 18 in the AP poll and the Rebels were No. 23. In fact, Mississippi State has never been ranked higher than No. 13 heading into its annual rivalry game with Ole Miss, with that being in 1957 -- a game that ended in a tie against the No. 7 Rebels.

There’s still plenty of football to be played between now and Nov. 29’s date in Oxford, but ticket prices on the secondary market are already through the roof.

Per the Clarion-Ledger, the cheapest ticket on StubHub is listed at $294.99 -- and that’s for standing room. If you want to sit down, you’ll have to pay a little over $345 for the least expensive seat.

According to TiqIQ.com, the average price of 3,078 Egg Bowl tickets on other secondary market websites is $466.

Ole Miss still has a home date against Auburn and tricky road games at LSU and Arkansas before hosting Mississippi State at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium. Mississippi State, meanwhile, will have to avoid being upset on the road at Arkansas and Kentucky and still has to get past Alabama in Tuscaloosa to set up a possible 1 vs. 2 matchup in Oxford next month.
